Celebrating 20 years of Fuckin'Good Music

Above & Beyon, Martin Solveig & David Guetta. Recorded LIVE on April 5th 2012, at the 20th birthday party of Radio FG. Several minutes of Fuckin'Good Music at le Grand Palais in Paris.

Radio FG, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a big party in Paris. For this anniversary the radio - born in 1992 - had enlisted fifteen of the biggest stars DJs like David Guetta, Martin Solveig, Above and Beyond, Steve Aoki, Basto! & Bob Sinclar. They took turns at the decks in the great Grand Palais & transformed it into a giant nightclub. Its dome lit by rays of light colored, copper arches green tinged with pink.

Forget the sandwich shop! Swedes hit the club on their lunch break.

Instead of grabbing some grub, some Swedes are picking up their dancing shoes when the clock strikes noon. In the newest trend to sweep Sweden, hundreds of office workers are heading to the club for their lunch break, as reported by the Associated Press.

Employees get to dance away their frustrations at Lunch Beat, an event that lasts precisely for one hour. Pulsating club music? Included. Then it’s back to the cubicle. Dancers do get to eat during Lunch Beat, though, so they don’t go back to work hungry. A fee for the event, usually around 10 euro, is used to cover rent and basic sandwiches.

Lunch Beat was first held in June 2010 in Stockholm. And even though only 14 people showed up, word quickly spread. Now the monthly event attracts hundreds of office bees in droves. Other Swedish cities have joined in on the fray, while countries like Finland, Serbia and Portugal are also participating.

The organization intends to remain non-profit, and recently opened up a foundation called the Lunch Beat Branch Bank. The funds, according to the group’s website, “will continuously be distributed to new start-ups branches, which are in need of a small funding to get a great start.” Daniel Odelstad, the 31-year-old organizer of Lunch Beat Stockholm, says there are some simple rules that every attendee must follow. “The first rule of Lunch Beat is that you have to dance. If you don’t want to dance during your lunch hour, then you should eat your lunch somewhere else.”

Fuckin'Good Music: Netsky - Give & Take

Boris Daenen returns to dancefloors and airwaves worldwide via this exclusive digital-only one-track single. "Give & Take" re-establishes Netsky as one of D+B’s leading lights as the buzz starts to build around his second album which will drop later in 2012.

Feel-good dancefloor-driven liquid D&B at its best, with sultry, slo-mo beats giving way to rolling drums, shuddering subs and the kind of soaring asymmetrical synth melodies and shimmying piano keys which make up Netsky's signature sound.

A veteran of the U.K. grime scene, MC, producer, and record label owner Skepta (Joseph Junior Adengua) was influential in its shift from the underground to the pop charts. Inspired by both U.S. and U.K. hip-hop, he started his music career appearing on the pirate radio circuit and performing at various MC battles.

He released his first two albums, Greatest Hits and Microphone Champion, through his label before signing with All Around the World Records in 2010. His third album, Doin' It Again, was released at the beginning of 2011.

In 2012 he's back. His newest single 'Hold On' was released in the UK trough 3Beat Productions on the first of January. The Dutch record producer, songwriter, artist & DJ Vato Gonzalez (Björn Franken), considered to be the originator of a house music movement known as 'dirty house', has made an exclusive remix of the song. What will the iPhone 5 look like?

What are you predictions for the iPhone 5? I heard someplace that a curved display was in the making and attention was being given to the antenna issues.

Designer Michal Bonikowski feels that the new version will be safe and predictable, simply because Apple can’t afford another failed version. In his conceptual version Michal converts glass enclosure into proven aluminum; steel frame remains as a reference to the previous version and directly to the iPad 2. Also, the key functions is converted from mechanical to sensory.

I see dead people

How would a The Beatles album look like without George Harrison & John Lennon? Can U imagine The Doors without Jim Morrison? Nirvana without Kurt Cobain? The Beach Boys without Carl & Dennis Wilson? Or ACDC without Bon Scott?

Tropical tailoring à la carte

Tailoring à la carte is nothing new. But at Café Costume they're dedicated to find exceptional fabrics at the stock exchanges in Paris and Milan. And that's how they can make a difference.

While Bruno van Gils was searching for new & exclusive fabrics for his Spring 2012 collection, he got inspired by the adventures of the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman.

1642. After a grueling journey at sea, Abel Tasman stranded on an island south of Australia and named it 'Tasmania'. Today, the island is known for the high-quality merino wool. The very fine and consistent fiber diameter of the wool excels in comfort and softness. The strong yarns ensure long life. Typical to the Tasmanian Wool is its pure white yarn, creating a bright and vivid color result. Which makes it perfect for a costume with an intense summer shade.

The conga's are out of reach!

Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom like to show you around in their newest studio. Yep! The guys of Dada Life are pretty proud on their Scandinavian bunker.

What's to expect? The dada.
But no worries. The conga's are out of reach!

In October 2011, they were voted #38 in DJ Mag's Top 100. Today they're killing it with their newest single 'Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker'.

The best drift to Paris

The American author F. Scott Fitzgerald already knew: "The best drift to Paris." Essentiel is no longer a rookie in the Capital of Love. Since a few years they are hosting an exclusive corner at Le Bon Marché and have opened a shop in the Rue de Tournon in the 6th arrondissement. But now Essentiel opens a brand new boutique in the heart of the Marais.

The boutique is conceived as a contemporary apartment. A wooden floor, a warm, homely atmosphere and contemporary deco. It feels like coming home. A focus on Essentiel's men & women's collection, both supplemented with key styles of a number of invites like Barbour, Pyrenex, Hunter, Orlebar Brown, Adidas and Nike. Are you planning to visit Paris soon? Do not hesitate to jump in here!
